Welcome! My name is Ella Hall and I am a Clinical Psychologist working in Christchurch New Zealand. I completed my training at the University of Otago before moving to begin my career in Christchurch, where I have remained since! I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with children, families, and adults in different settings including neonatal and child development/intervention services. This means that I have experience in helping both children and adults with a broad range of difficulties. In particular, I am passionate about fostering early child development and supporting children and their families to reach their full potential. As part of this, I complete a small number of developmental assessments with children, including ADHD. I also have a specific interest in working with women in the antenatal and postnatal period who are experiencing difficulties with mood and anxiety.
I aim to work flexibly and collaboratively with clients and families to ensure therapy is individualised to each client’s specific need. This means that I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities in therapy such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. (Click here to read more about these therapies). I utilize an empathetic and nonjudgmental approach in order to create a safe and compassionate space for clients to share, feel listened to, and learn new skills and strategies.
I hold a Bachelor of Science with Honours, a Master of Science (with Distinction) in Psychology, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology. I am registered with the NZ Psychologists Board and a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists and Infant Mental Health Association Aotearoa New Zealand.
